Me enjoying a Ghanaian lunch at Las Palmas at the Medina Market in Accra, Ghana
Fried Rice, fried plantains and a vegetable dish from Las Palmas.
White rice, fried plantain and stew from Las Palmas.
Banku (fermented corn dough and cassava dough) made by the Spiritan House cook
Millet Porridge (a type of grain) and bread with cocoa spread for breakfast at the Spiritan House
Fufu (pounded cassava with plantain) with peanut soup and meat served at the Spiritan House
Ghanaian drinks served at Las Palmas
I have enjoyed the majority of the food in Ghana. The one dish I did not like was FuFu. After my first bite I thought “why?” It does not taste like much of anything and it was very starchy; I just didn’t understand the point of it. On the other hand, my favorite dish so far would have to be the stew with rice and fried plantains. My mouth waters just thinking about it 🙂
